How we vet vendors
Lifetime deals fail when vendors disappear, strip features, or rebrand into a v2. We built a verifiable trust check to stop that — and we keep checking forever. Every promise on this page is backed by a real artifact on every deal page.
1. Identity & business entity
Real company name, jurisdiction, and tax ID on file. Application signed under the vendor agreement and reviewed before approval.
2. Domain ownership
Vendor proves they control the product's primary domain via a DNS TXT record. Surfaced on every deal page as 'Domain-verified vendor'.
3. Verified payouts (Stripe Connect)
Every vendor onboards through Stripe Connect — identity, bank account, and charges/payouts status checked by Stripe and re-checked nightly by us.
4. Public Lifetime Promise
Refund window, honour period (in years), sunset clause, and pricing cap are locked into a signed promise snapshot at launch. Visible and version-tracked on every deal page.
5. Risk band & sanctions screen
Each vendor is scored across country risk, sanctions lists, and product red flags. The risk band is shown publicly once enough signal is present — we don't paint a green chip over hollow data.
6. Honest refund signal
Per-deal refund rate is published once a deal hits 20 sales. Below that threshold we say so out loud rather than fabricate a stat. The refund window itself is one-click, no chase.
7. Continuous monitoring
Approval is day zero, not the end. Every approved vendor goes through:
- • 90-day attestation — vendor re-confirms in writing that they are still operating and honouring the promise. The date of the most recent attestation is shown publicly on every deal page; overdue vendors get an amber pill.
- • Automated signals — we check website availability, status-page health, GitHub activity and refund-rate anomalies, and store every probe in
deals_vendor_signalsfor review. - • Manual review when signals fail — persistent red flags trigger a human review. Vendors we can't reach or who breach the promise get unlisted and past buyers are notified per the sunset clause they signed at launch. We do not auto-flip status on a single bad signal — a single 5xx response should not erase a lifetime deal.
What we do differently
One-time vetting decays. We re-attest every 90 days, lock the promise at launch, and surface the date stamps publicly so you can verify it yourself on any deal page. If we can't back a claim with an artifact, we don't make it.
